i am feeling like i didn’t give enough credits to my japan trip. like i really saw many interesting things i want to share but it’s one of those things…you take gbs of photos back from a holiday and that’s it…..they stay there in the hard disk. this is when i am not sure if i like going digital. like you know, if it’s with film, at least the images get to see the daylight and there will always be another time you flip back and see all the funny things you used to do and what nots. now with the convenience of softwares and hardwares that help to organise our lives, i always think that we seem to not remember things as well as before. almost like we take things for granted. like we will always think that the digital photos will always be there safe in the hard disk, until one day it decided to give up on you. (so before that most unfortunate thing happens..)

japan…land of fancy everything. yeah, how can one forget the 101 or 1001 most stupid japanese inventions. they definitely score a* for innovativeness and creativity. i mean, it’s real problem solving. i am impressed by how they are able to recognise opportunities for almost anything. ride a bicycle to city and worried about having to chain it the lamp post? they have an underground parking area for not just bicycles, but motorbikes as well. can’t get your bike down the stairs or into the lift? they have an automated bike ramp, which lets you get your mode of transport up and down with ease. and you can even get to do a little ‘surfing’ on it as well… 😛 yeah…something i picked up from some kiddos who were fooling around on the bike ramp.

the underground parking is pretty amazing. it just feels like an underground carpark in a shopping mall kind of thing. just that this is 100% for bicycles and motorbikes. no way for cars to get in here at all manz..

left – automated belt for bikes to come up
center – for commuters to walk up or down
right – for bikes to go down

i finally made it to the very renown Japan island on the 15th of december 2007!!

yeah yeah..i am probably a late comer already as compared to some friends and peers i know..but hey i made it!!
