yeah..the fun of having short hair…
like reeeeeaaaalllllly short pixie hair…
not really close in terms of their aura & air..
but hey…at least i finally get to do it once… 😉
can’t really tell this is really a pixie…
but she’s still my all time favourite.. 😉
i met the first set of mirrors in the fitting room of fred perry…
& got carried away trying the many outfits that i saw & like..
embracing my new hair…
sounds right for the pixie hair he had done for me… 😉
love it love it love it…
this is the first time i have ever shed my hair till so short..
and no better person to do it for me than mr fabulous leong…
i never thought i could ever do a style like this…
but if leong says “you can pull it off!!”..
then i guess i can.. 😉
it has been 1 year & 2 days since leong moved to sydney..
this period of time has been tough for me…
still trying to figure out what & who can be right for me…
there have been surprises…
which of course…came with disappointments (something i try to minimise by not doing funky things)…
i am just VERY happy to see leong again..

i saw this exact photo in a magazine while i was in melaka..
love the red dior ski boots!!..
i came back from melaka & was suffering from a crazy craving for steamboat…
erm ok…it started even before i went to melaka… 😛
5 lines of conversation or less on msn & 3 hours later…
mona & i made it out for dinner on time….
(yeah…and i gave up trying to explain to people who don’t take pictures how to take a picture… *sigh*….)
on thursday…
(to cut the story short)
me: eh..i feel like going melaka…keen?
kenn: i don’t mind!!
immediately i called to get coach tickets & get a hotel reservation…
saturday morning..we were on our way to melaka..
(not forgetting the morning drama when i overslept & put kenn in distress at bedok mrt station…yeah i woke up at 715am after my mum scream into my room & i was due to catch the coach at 745am)
it has been a while..
i have been craving for my very sinful gula melaka on the chendol…
& the asam laksa soup…
hmmmmmm…..
*drool*…
thinking back just turn my taste buds so so on…
at our first toilet break stop..
this is our $36 return tixs coach..
pretty nice..
right..it was such a mad rush that we didn’t get to change money… 😦
so………we could only smell the food at the stalls until we get to melaka & hope that it won’t be too difficult to get some ringgit…
i have been to melaka too many times…but i have always been very prepared…or at least..things were too convenient when simon & i used o drive up there a lot…
oh well…guess it doesn’t hurt to do a little exploring on a familiar place to discover new things…
with kenn…my new travelling hunny… 😉
arriving at the heeren house after a longer than usual journey than i remember…
driving to melaka was 2 hours flat..then about another 30mins to town…
now..it takes about what?…close to 5 hours???…
me: that gives me another reason to have a mini cabriolet..
kenn: yeah man…

and the only chendol (with no coconut milk) that make me so ever high…
with the thick thick gula melaka…
yeah..it’s so thick that it hardens into a “shell” over the ice shaving…
hmmmmmmmmm……
after filling our stomaches…
it’s time to be a tourist…
or rather..revisit some good old times we both had of this place from our own separate experiences..
it’s amazing they make such fancy stuff for the other world..
100 points for effort & creativity manz… 😉

then we headed to a spa for a cheap & decent body scrub..
the place looks pretty new…& quite “zen”..(well it’s a spa)…

time to fill our stomaches again (not that it was ever empty)..
before we jump in to the next massage appointment…haha..
due to some screw ups…
we didn’t get to do our massage..
so we went on to torture our legs some more…
checking out more familiar places…
trying to find those familiar places…
remembering some good old times…
looks like they really did some major clean up to melaka manz..
i didn’t remember this river being so clean and pretty…
well…it used to stink so bad that i didn’t even bother stopping to look at it..
now..we could actually stand there for a while as we get some breeze in our faces..
& admire the night scenery a little longer…
kenn the combat king…
just can’t put those fists down…

but i strangely didn’t have them when i was young..
maybe when parents were young?..
i am quite happy to still see this stage when i come back here this time after so long..
it’s like the weekend night entertainment for the locals here in melaka..
anybody can go up & sing…

a really huge audience!!
guess it’s a after dinner thing…where the folks just come & hang out..
have a few beers…or if not..
some snacks…some chat…
to pass time…

good old resident singer…
i have never really hang out here to be honest…
even thou i have been here too many times…& pass by its huge crowd too many times..
precisely just too many people…
but tonight…was too short to miss…
and the phenomenon happened…
people were coming up to dance!!
& so this place seemed to have its regulars for something too – dancing… 😀
it was really fun to watch..
as some of the uncles & auntis do their twists & turns..
with my 1 glass of wine…
that’s the end of our first day in melaka…

it almost feels like it is floating…
although chunky on top…
but it seemed to feel light with the minimal structure below to keep it “afloat”…
the exhibition space is phenomenal…
the closest i have ever come across personally..
is the prada store in tokyo…
where it feels like a fashion exhibition more than a retail store…
i love it when it feels like art form has somewhat being weaved into a consumer experience…
(can i say quite unknowingly?)…
but then…it is retail afterall…
it is commercialism afterall…
yeah….that’s actually a row of engines on display…
interesting..
it was also interesting to see that there were other cars inside…
i thought it will be purely a museum for porsche…
