yupz..mona & i have “recce” this place a couple of weeks back…
and thought it was quite worthy for us to come back again..

!! wHat an eYe opeNer !!

mona & kris had invites from their classmate in french class for dinner at the turf club last night…
at the same time to watch some races…
dress code was strict…
what came to mind was those horse racing events where women dressed up fabulously with fascinators & what nots…..

i was excited about it…and the entire experience was really more than what i had expected…i thought it will just be going there for the “free food” & just watching the races from tv..
but just being at the turf club and experiencing the atmosphere of people cheering for their favourite horses…discussing about their bets…etc…
all that is really quite something…

just can’t be bothered…
not so good with things i have to study a lot for… 😛

you know…this really feels like what you see in the movies..
where all the rich & fabulous come see their horses before the race..

but it was so wild and hyper!!…

no.3 is mona’s favourite with the printed ass.. 😛

here comes the jockeys..

they look normal & ok when we were watching the race on tv…
but to see them in real person is just so weird!!…
though i know for a fact that the best jockeys in world are all not very tall…
this is just strangeness that is beyond me…
i am sorry but it’s almost freaky… 😦

(not that i will ever come to the turf club for nothing)

amazing flood lights…
i always associate them to be being “powerful”…

it was really a different feeling watching it from down here..
we could hear the crowd go wild!!..

after every race…
the jockeys have to take their weight with some of their equipment..

the last bet on the last race..
will we win?…

and yes!!..
we all have a winning ticket… 😉

we all forked out $10 each..got back $7 from the 2 races so still -3…
well..it was all just for fun…

it was really a very interesting experience…
at least for once in my lifetime…
i know how is it really like to be part of the whole horse racing craze…
(part of the glam part that is… :P)
even the place itself is nice already…
i didn’t think i will come to the turf club any point in my life… 😛
i didn’t even go to the old one (now turf city) before…
the best part of it all?…
to get down to the parade ring to see the horses…
