uncle knut’s house has a secret passage way…
i was so close..yet so far..

the stairway up to the bathroom on the left…and room on the right..
love the glass design…
which blocks out people’s vision from below when you switch off the lights..

my favourite kind of shower head..
because it makes me feel like rain in the hair…

and there’s the door to the secret passage way…
so subtle that i missed it..

going down on the beautiful steps..
love the angles..
it all make sense…

entering the secret room…
the sauna room downstairs..
which i know is there but didn’t think it is connected to the bathroom upstairs..

the suana machine…

i had the “fear factor” challenge that night..
to get so warmed up in the suana..
then run out and jump into the snow…
(i know..sounds like “ouch”)….

round 1:
uncle knut – fully off, face flat in the snow for a while…
kjetil – almost fully off, lie flat in the snow for a quick while…
me – dipped only my legs into the snow…

round 2:
uncle knut – fully off, face flat in the snow for a while…
kjetil – almost fully off, lie flat in the snow for a little more while…
me – jumped into the snow with towel on for a split second….

wooohoooooooooooooooooo!!!
ok …i admit it wasn’t that bad..

we “borrowed” the neighbour’s toy and gave it a shot down a pretty small slope..
it was fun!!…
(can we do that again before we return the toy to the neighbour??)

beautiful sky with the sun shining down..
i feel like i am in the north pole already manz…
(though i have never been there)

but when i see this…
this is santa claus..
this is reindeer…
this is like a fairy tale..

and i am standing on ice!!…
yeah in front of me…is norway’s biggest lake…mjøsa..
so how big are we talking about here?..

100km long…and 500m deep..

absolutely crazy…

snow so soft…
it’s like fairy floss…

and we found a piece of ice that is shaped like a moose…

smoke coming out from the chimney..
that can only mean 1 thing…

food!!..

we are all famished after climbing and struggling through the snow…

uncle knut…
kjetil’s uncle..

when i went into uncle knut’s house…
it was really really..really like a fairy tale…
the house is amazing…
something which i thought exist only in movie sets…

it is an 18th century structure… (something like that)…
and through the years when uncle knut is staying there..
he has made many improvements here and there..
working with architects, he has really made the house a great place..

awwwwww….
if only that was me…

no matter how white and quiet it is always out there..
i don’t think i will ever get sick of all that snow..
it is just magical..
brings about the peace and calmness in the mind..and in the heart…

having a hot meal by the window and looking out in the vastness…

vintage looking heater..
love it…
fits the house perfectly..

this is the first time i see this type of “blower”…

kjetil : “chris’ greatest dream is to see a moose”..
yeah it was…
and so uncle knut equipped me with his power binoculars so that i can see them up close & personal…

after a big party night…
it was definitely a good idea to retreat to the country side..
kjetil was kind enough to bring me along together with his wife and friend from tokyo..
we were going to his uncle’s house about less than 2 hours drive away in a place call stange..
even though it was all covered with snow everywhere…
it is still beautiful…
maybe this is what makes it “norway”…
