“life at the extreme”

but i was nowhere close to being at any extreme..
yeah..i just saw the sail boats at the dock…

i have been seeing many of the advertising vehicles moving around town – the volvo xc70s (beautiful car)..
and finally the 8 teams finished their leg from cochin here in singapore..
the race village was set in the executive residence of sentosa cove..
so it was really an eye opener, at least for myself to be able to take a peep at some of the most expensive/luxurious/prestigious/whatever-other-fancy-words houses here in singapore…

sailing boats..
well what do i know…nothing..
seen the small scale ones..
seen the bigger scale ones on tv & documentary…(yeah watching the volvo ocean race on tv)..
but right at the race village, i managed to catch glimpses of the crew (land/sea) doing some cleaning…some prep work…for the next leg to qingdao in china..

out for a “test drive”?…

the dome…
i went in to catch a 10min video about the ocean race..
the history…how volvo came into the picture..etc..
watching the video did make me understand better what “life at the extreme” was all about..

the crew sail nonstop…
in good weather..or bad weather…
at times it can be smooth sailing…
then comes the high waves that just bring you up to the sky..
lucky if it did…or else the boat will be down under manz…

people win and people lose..
victory is of course always sweet..
any fall just adds on the pressure…

like any carnival..there’s always something for everyone…

even for me…
a little disappointed that candy floss doesn’t come on a stick here…
i opted for the 2nd choice of an ice ball…

i waited for things to happen and i literally got an ice ball…

i was hoping it was some old school ice kachang ball….
guess not..
this is literally literally an ice ball – a ball of ice with color water on it…
no fillings…
no jellos..
nothing…
*sigh*…
as we always say “anything also can sell”…

the only thing that comes to my mind when the name volvo comes up..
is the stylish and a little futuristic looking c30 with a beautiful back…
and yes..at the back of my mind..i probably remember that the buses i take are volvos too…
but it just feels funny to see many kinds of volvos come together….
volvo of all shapes and size..

i do miss the one (venue) hanging around in town before…

how can we left this out?..
when the inventor/creator of the big guy behind this cool toy lives right here…

how cool is it to be seen on 1 of this??…
though i am not sure how far i can stand…

neh…i love mini…

yeah there are tonnes of them..

but i just love to see her as herself as a bride now…
the real her that i know…
actually she has been quite real throughout the whole thing..
pretty crazy as she can really be..

yeah sure…
she sure can wear her own shoes..

the serious moment when tienjin’s brother present them with a “story”..
she showed her “color”..hehe..

tired she claimed to be..
she suddenly flipped open her fan and “sa shay” down to her room…

yeah..it’s THAT long ago..
16 years today in 2009…

ok..forget about the numbers..
but yes!!
kenn and i are very happy for her!!

a beautiful bride she is…
in kenn’s words…

it feels so unreal..
we were just saying that time felt like it stopped..
stopped when we were all 12…13…& 14…(kenn…me & min min)..

i knew her when she was min min…
then she is ann now…
still min min of course..
in our hearts…
because we still find it strange to call her ann…
